August has been another HOT and DRY month!

On one hand it has been an incredibly challenging year for lawns, particularly as we launched our lawncare service, but the dry weather has allowed us to be incredibly productive with very little down time due to inclement weather.

AUTUMN LAWN CARE?

Autumn is a fantastic time to get your lawns sorted! Milder weather, and (hopefully) good amounts of rain help lawns recover from any interventions.

Scarification

The process of mechanical removing moss and thatch. Fundamentally it is the only way to deal with moss and thatch, and in the UK climate a necessary part of any decent lawn. A process that can really stress lawns, and if not done correctly can lead to damage.

Aeration

Basically putting holes in your lawn. You can either use a hollow tine, which removes a plug of soil, or a solid tine/spike, which puts a hole without removing any material. Generally we prefer hollow tine due to clay soil within Derbyshire, this is also much more effective in removing compaction.

Overseeding

Topping up the lawn with an additional amount of seed to repair bare patches, thicken up the lawn, or introduce a different grass species over time. This also requires top dress in order to help germination.

REMEMBER, we provide all of the above services, if you want to get your lawn looking like Wembley stadium, or just want a healthy green lawn year round, get in touch to arrange a no obligation quote!
